This position offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned equipment sales leader to lead and optimize the used equipment business, contributing to the overall success and profitability of the organization.
Position Summary:
This critical role oversees and manages the used equipment business, focusing on revenue generation, gross profit optimization, expense management, and overall financial performance. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining profitability, inventory turnover, and ensuring effective relationships with customers, dealers, and brokers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Retail Trade-in Value: Determine and manage retail trade-in values for used equipment, ensuring competitive yet profitable pricing strategies.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the efficient management of used equipment inventory, including procurement, storage, and disposition.
- Equipment Disposition: Develop and execute strategies for the timely and profitable disposition of used equipment inventory.
- Repair Cost Containment: Implement measures to control repair costs while ensuring the quality and reliability of used equipment.
- Warranty Administration: Manage warranty claims and administration for used equipment, ensuring compliance and maximizing reimbursement.
- Customer and Network Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, dealers, and brokers, fostering collaboration and maximizing sales opportunities.
- Internal collaboration: Work towards integrating the rental and used equipment functions, collaborating closely with New Sales and Rental teams to enhance organizational synergy and efficiency.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead and develop a team providing guidance, support, and mentorship to maximize individual and team performance.
Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related field.
- Extensive equipment sales experience at a CAT Dealer or National Brokerage.
- Demonstrated experience in sales team leadership roles with a track record of high performance driving revenue growth and achievement of KPIs.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey strategies, negotiate deals, and build relationships.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives.
- Proficiency in analyzing data and market trends to make informed business decisions.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and their impact on business outcomes.
- In-depth knowledge of construction equipment, including features, specifications, and market dynamics.
