Job Description


The primary function of this position is to determine the status of hydraulic systems of various mobile equipment (cranes, Hi-Lifts, fork trucks, tractors, etc.) for Caterpillar products, as well as other brands, and perform the necessary repairs, replacements, installations, or re-building of parts to restore the equipment to proper operation. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

  • Promptly, at start of shift, review work schedule, check equipment and supplies required to perform the work scheduled, and prepare for operations
  • Determine the technical or physical status (troubleshoot) of each hydraulic system (hydraulic cylinders, pumps, valves, etc.)
  • Disassemble, inspect, and quote pumps , motors, and hydraulic cylinders
  • Valve blocks off all makes models of equipment
  • Rebuild and test components upon completion
  • Correctly write service reports on all findings
  • Communicate to shop office, and parts department

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have earned a High School Diploma, or a GED
  • Must have 5 year of work experience in hydraulics or a related field
  • Must read, write, communicate in English as it relates to this job and safety regulations
  • Must meet the ergonomic and physical requirements, as well as the physical base scores for this position
  • Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform this job
  • Must be able to perform all job functions safely
  • Must meet the company performance standards for the job
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
