It's Women In Construction Week and today we’re celebrating Lourdes Paulino, who serves as a Rental Coordinator at our Waldorf, Md., store since joining the company in 2022. A typical day finds Lourdes coordinating and overseeing rentals, which includes sourcing equipment, creating agreements, managing equipment transportation, serving customers who call or stop in the store, and maintaining a great relationship with them by delivering excellent service. Her advice to women considering a career in
construction or with Carter Machinery is to not be afraid to ask questions as Carter is a big family and everyone is always willing to help. She also recommends being open to criticism as it’s a way to succeed and learn from everyone. As for the perception that construction is strictly a man’s industry, Lourdes says, “that’s a rumor that’s been going around for years. Over time, we’ve been proving it wrong, as we’ve been equally efficient and successful.”
