Construction Begins on Manhattan's $10B Midtown Bus Terminal Transformation
Construction has begun on the $10 billion transformation of Manhattan's Midtown Bus Terminal, replacing the 75-year-old depot with a modern, sustainable hub. The project aims to improve commuter experience, reduce congestion and enhance the surrounding community, creating 6,000 union jobs. The new terminal is designed for future needs with net-zero emissions, direct access to the Lincoln Tunnel, and featuring public green space. The facility, first opened in 1950, has continuously expanded to accommodate growing passenger numbers.
