Title Product Support Sales Representative (PSSR)

Description
· Sell parts and service to specified customers within a specified territory.

· Maintain contact with customers as outlined in the Quarterly Call Report. Follow up with completed call report form via computer software.

· Keep customers informed of new parts and services available.

· Inspect undercarriage and ground engaging tools to determine wear at customer site or shop – make recommendations and produce quotes for service needed.



Requirements
Primary:



· Sell parts and service to specified customers within a specified territory.

· Maintain contact with customers as outlined in the Quarterly Call Report. Follow up with completed call report form via computer software.

· Keep customers informed of new parts and services available.

· Inspect undercarriage and ground engaging tools to determine wear at customer site or shop – make recommendations and produce quotes for service needed.

· Conduct customer sales/training meetings as well as making sales presentations.

· Negotiate successful settlement of customer product support disputes.





Secondary:



· Assist in the development of Parts/Service Merchandising Programs.

· Conduct an annual review of sales successes with large and medium customers.

· Comply with policies of safe driving and vehicle use.

· Adhere to company policies, procedures and safety regulations. Use all safety equipment as necessary. Report any unsafe acts or conditions.



Performance Standards:



· Achieves customer satisfaction and market dominance by exceeding budgeted service and parts revenue in assigned territory or assigned customers.

· Assists the Service Department with performance control failure analysis as required.

· Applies technical knowledge through attendance at technical training classes.

· Effectively participates as part of the team, assisting where appropriate and requesting assistance when needed.

· Achieves customer focus by delivering high quality, cost effective service.

· Adheres to company policies, procedures and practices.



Position Specifications:





Education:



· High School diploma, GED or trade school equivalent, some college preferred.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to read materials commonly used in the job function.





Technical Training:



· Working knowledge of company’s parts, components, equipment and services offered.

· Proficient computer technology skills, including the ability to utilize Company authorized software.

· Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all co-workers, customers and the general public.

· Adequate math skills to prepare parts and service quotes for customer information





Experience:



· Minimum of four (4) years’ experience with Caterpillar parts and/or service.





Work Environment:



· Shop/warehouse environment with exposure to heat, cold, dust, dirt and noise.

· Field environment with exposure to adverse weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, dust and dirt.

· Valid Nevada State Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.

· Occasional travel and overnight stays.





Physical / Mental Abilities:



· Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with position and responsibilities.

· Self-motivated and detail oriented; work with minimum supervision.

· Stand/walk 1-4 hours a day, and/or sit 5-6 hours a day.

· Occasionally/frequently lift 50 lbs.

· Must use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.

· Must be able to occasionally bend, squat and climb; including ability to ascend and descend ladders.

· Must use feet for repetitive movement when operating equipment controls.
