Job Description


Summary:

The Credit Administrator is responsible for providing direct assistance to the Credit Manager and the Credit Analyst in the administration of granting credit and collection of accounts due to the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Processes new customer credit applications, researches customers' financial condition, obtain trade references, and obtain appropriate reports to determine the degree of credit risk.
  2. Review and interpret documents such as credit reports, company policies and procedure’s manuals.
  3. Setup and maintain customer accounts within SAP/AS400 systems and ensures data quality .
  4. Assist with research and release of orders placed on credit hold following established guidelines.
  5. Assist with identifying delinquent accounts and providing support during the collection process. Recommends credit limit adjustments or collection based on credit history
  6. Research and respond promptly to customer inquiries and assist with account reconciliation.
  7. Process payments for customers and update account notes.
  8. Scan and maintain credit files.
  9. Works on special credit department projects and complete other tasks as assigned
  10. Assist with switchboard coverage.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including verbal, written and listening skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, guidelines and laws, problem solving skills and reading, spelling and mathematical skills
  • Project management skills and the ability to manage change

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Associates or 4 year degree highly preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years’ administrative and computer experience in a multiple person office
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), SAP, AS400, DBS preferred
