Job Description


The Role

Foley Equipment's Collections Specialist is responsible for managing collections of outstanding customer accounts receivables to minimize past dues balances and provide exceptional customer service.

 

What you will do in this job:

  • Manage accounts receivable aging to maximize profitability and minimize bad debt expense
  • Establish good rapport with customers while providing outstanding customer service collections
  • Motivate and guide customers through the collections process
  • Educate customers on using the payment portal and retrieve account documents (Invoices)
  • Discuss sensitive financial situations and ensure confidentiality
  • Identify issues attributing to account delinquency and discuss with management
  • Explain options and work with the customer to resolve past due amounts
  • Work with internal departments to resolve billing disputes, short pays, and misapplied cash through research and analysis
  • Conduct client collection calls and execute lien notices, collection letters, etc. as required
  • Develop relationships with internal/external customers and suppliers
  • Perform maintenance to the customer accounts to ensure accuracy and current information
  • Foster good relationships with sales, rental, service and parts teams
  • Support the credit manager in serving our customers in the areas of retail financing and physical damage insurance, and other responsibilities, and serve as backup when needed
  • Keep sales abreast of any customer issues or concerns

Our Ideal Candidate

  • High School diploma required
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior collections experience including interaction with a large customer base
  • Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills required
  • Excellent attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and to adapt to fast changing environment
  • Strong computer skills and ability to understand all pertinent company computer systems with training
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Team player, positive attitude, and self-starter.
  • Creative, self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency

  • College degree preferred
