We are currently offering a $2,000 sign-on bonus for EPG Rental Technician new hires. $1,000 is payable after 90-days of employment, and the remaining $1,000 is payable after 180 days of employment.
Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring an Electric Power Generation (EPG) Rental Technician in Elkridge, Maryland. The Electric Power Generation (EPG) Rental Technician is responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing EPG rental equipment for power, temperature control, air, pumps and used equipment at a Carter or customer facility. This position maintains gensets 100 kW and below, and/or pumps 8” and below. Will test batteries, repair cables and shore power plugs. Must be willing to assist more experienced technicians in the field to support all PSD rental equipment. Seeking candidates with previous experience diagnosing and troubleshooting basic engine failures and performing light mechanical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment. Forklift experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent.
Requirements for the Electric Power Generation (EPG) Rental Technician include:
- Self-starter able to work with limited supervision.
- Must have a mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must have an excellent driving record and valid driver's license.
- Proficient in the use of a computer.
- Must be available for after-hours emergency service requests.
- Able to work overtime as required by job and customer demand.
Physical requirements must be met for the Electric Power Generation (EPG) Rental Technician job, including the ability to lift, carry and maneuver items up to 70 pounds, including bulky objects. This position requires repeated reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending and climbing. Must be able to work outside in inclement weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, dampness and humidity. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
