THE OPPORTUNITY
We are searching for a Regional Safety Coordinator to join our growing operations covering Southeast Louisiana. You will be responsible for the implementation and execution of the Health, Safety and Environmental Programs at Louisiana Cat.
YOUR CONTRIBUTION
- You will execute and monitor overall safety strategies for the Louisiana Cat's safety policies, regulatory compliance, safe equipment usage, and our continuous improvement processes
- You will conduct training on Louisiana Cat Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures as well as participating and monitoring the Safety Training Programs
- You will document and maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental records and statistics
- You will inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and safe work practices to ensure compliance with corporate safety standards, customer requirements, and government regulations
- You will actively manage accidents/incidents
- You will conduct accident/incident investigations and prepare root cause analysis studies when required
- You will conduct safety audits to ensure compliance with all Louisiana Cat and Government Regulations

MOST IMPORTANT QUALIFICATIONS
- REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED equivalent
- REQUIRED: 2-4 years of experience in a Health & Safety profession
- REQUIRED: Must have a valid driver's license with clean record
- REQUIRED: Must have 1-2 years of experience training/instructing employees in safety subjects.
- Preferred: 2-4 years of experience around construction and heavy equipment
- Preferred: 1-2 years of experience with Marine/Oil & Gas/Plant work
JOB FACTS
- The Safety Coordinator will be assigned to Louisiana Cat branches within a specific territory
- The Safety Coordinator will spend approximately 50% of the workweek between those Louisiana Cat branch locations
- This role requires physical movement, lifting, mechanical rotating parts and compliance with PPE (personal protective equipment) safety regulations
- The role requires occasional work outside of normal 7-5 work hours.
- The Safety Coordinator must become qualified to give Forklift Operator Training, Manlift/Scissor Lift Training, LOTO Training, etc.
