Holt CAT in Irving, Texas is looking for a Service Delivery Driver. This position is responsible for the safe transportation of delivery and pick-up of parts to and from customers. This position will also assist the parts department. Essential responsibilities are to perform vehicle inspections, and local pick-up and delivery.
The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis:

Essential Functions:
- Delivery and pick-up of parts in a safe and timely, efficient, and courteous manner
- Assist the parts department in customer delivery parts.
- Secure components and other equipment, using chaining, strapping, and blocking under strict accordance and established procedures
- Perform pre-and post- vehicle inspections; Inspects vehicles for defects and safe operating conditions, before, during, and after delivery trips
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs
- Complete DOT required drivers' daily log and trip sheets accurately and without misrepresentation
- Obtain required signatures on pick-up and exchange forms
- Assist other departments whenever required in an efficient manner
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrates proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems
- Knowledge of forklift, scissor lift, and overhead crane operation
- Knowledge and understanding of Motor Carrier Safety Regulations/DOT guidelines
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Quality control analysis skills - conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
- Operation and control skills - controlling operations of equipment or systems
- Equipment selection skills - determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
- The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions
- Ability to read maps and operate GPS systems
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in the mechanical repair
- The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble small objects
- The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
- The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
Education and Experience:
- One or more years’ driving experience preferred, with verifiable over-the-road experience operating combination commercial vehicles
- High school or equivalent diploma preferred
Driver License/History:
- Valid Driver’s license
- Commercial License preferred
- Safe driving history
- Possess knowledge of and/or previous experience in driving delivery trucks, towing tandem axle utility trailers, and operating safely within high traffic or congested city zones and in small areas
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 100% of the time
- Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
- Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
- Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbing up and down ladders
- Be able to safely maneuver and work underneath equipment
- Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
Work Environment:
- Requires working in a closed vehicle or equipment
- Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment
- Requires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions including extreme conditions such as heavy rain, wind, or excessive temperatures
- Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable
- Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment
- Significant time spent in confined spaces and/or high places
- Computer literacy preferred
