JOB SUMMARY
The Service Sales Intern will be responsible for aiding in the daily operations of the Service Department. This position will afford the employee the opportunity to gain real world experience as they pursue higher education.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
- Assist with general operations of the Service Department
- Develop and maintain the sales/service relationship with customers and internal personnel
- Assist in the preparation quotes for repairs
- Open, review, and close work orders
- Monitor work in progress and work closely with the parts, sales, and warranty departments
- Effectively communicate work performed and necessary changes to the customer and service representatives
- Convey information between sales, service, and customer efficiently
- Various clerical work as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in one the following fields: Engineering, Business, Project Management, Communications, Construction Management, Maritime Management
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high pressure environments
- Strong computer skills including experience with MS Office such as MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and other employees of the organization
JOB FACTS
- Work Schedule: Flexible; not to exceed 25 hours per week
- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, or sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to process paperwork and utilize office equipment (including personal computer, phone, copiers, etc.) A large portion of the day is spend communicating orally in person and by phone. Normal sight or corrected vision is required to read documents and use standard computer terminals. The employee must be able to occasionally lift 25 pounds from floor to chest. The employee must have the ability to reach and use the arms within a full range of motion in order to retrieve stocked parts.
- Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

This role may progress into Service Sales Coordinator, Product Support Sales Representative, Parts Manager, New Equipment Sales Representative, or Project Manager.
