Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Competitive Intelligence Business Analyst. The Competitive Intelligence Business Analyst identifies competitive insights, conducts and/or analyzes competitive assessments, gathers competitive intelligence, and recommends data-driven strategies to improve competitiveness and drive growth through data analysis, competitive research, and internal customer assessments. The individual in this role will develop and maintain a clear and illustrative view of Carter’s competitive landscape. Seeking candidates with previous experience in business analysis, research, and collection of data for business purposes required; Bachelor's degree in a related field, or minimum of four years’ experience in project management and data analysis.
Requirements for the Competitive Intelligence Business Analyst position include:
- Thorough understanding of process analysis.
- Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Must be able to engage in effective and persuasive discussions on complex topics with top management and other company personnel. Must be able to make presentations to company personnel.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must have good attention to detail.
- Strong organization skills with the ability to effectively prioritize (with changing priorities), multi-task, address issues quickly and professionally, and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Must be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
- Must have ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Must be able to work effectively, both independently and in team settings.
- Must be willing to travel with possible out-of-town overnight stays.

Physical requirements must be met for the Competitive Intelligence Business Analyst job, including regularly being required to sit and talk or hear.
