Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Caterpillar Software Analyst. The Caterpillar Software Analyst is responsible for managing, supporting, and optimizing the use of Caterpillar's VisionLink platform for equipment fleet management. The individual in this role will onboard customers, provide training, troubleshoot issues, manage subscriptions, and ensure accurate telematics data flow. The Caterpillar Analyst acts as the primary liaison between clients, Caterpillar services, and internal teams to enhance equipment productivity and reduce downtime through data-driven insights. Seeking candidates with Experience with VisionLink platform, Microsoft Excel, CRM systems, and related software tools; Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience; Experience with VisionLink is preferred.
Requirements for the Caterpillar Software Analyst position include:
- Familiarity with telematics, fleet management systems, or Caterpillar software systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for customer interaction and problem resolution.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to analyze telematics data, identify trends, and present actionable insights.
- Manage multiple customers, subscriptions, and troubleshooting tasks effectively.
- Must be able to function well in a high volume and fast-paced environment.
- Must be willing to travel as needed, including overnight stays.

Physical requirements must be met for the Caterpillar Software Analyst job, including the ability sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Able to lift, carry and maneuver items up to 10 pounds in weight. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
