What You’ll Do
As a Field Service Technician, you’ll travel to customer job sites to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of construction equipment. You’ll serve as the face of Arnold Machinery in the field, ensuring every customer receives reliable, professional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment
- Travel to customer sites and perform field service work
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble equipment
- Use technical manuals, service procedures, and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues
- Determine part reusability and order replacements when needed
- Perform adjustments, calibrations, and system tests
- Provide warranty recommendations and complete related documentation
- Perform light fabrication, welding, plumbing, and DC electrical repairs
- Mentor and guide less experienced technicians when needed
- Communicate clearly with customers about job status and any necessary follow-up
- Maintain accurate service reports, work orders, and documentation
- Uphold all safety standards and good housekeeping practices
What We’re Looking For
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to read technical documents and service manuals
- Proficient with diagnostic and hand tools
- Basic computer skills for service reporting and parts ordering
- Reliable, self-motivated, and customer-focused
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
- Frequent walking, climbing, bending, and kneeling
- Comfortable working outdoors and on uneven terrain
- Ability to safely operate and work around heavy machinery
