Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Site Services On-board Technology Application Specialist. The Site Services On-board Technology Application Specialist is the lead and considered expert on all CAT On-Board Technologies, including but not limited to Factory Equipped Technologies like E-Fences, Assist, CAB Avoidance, Dig assist, Payload, Grade. The individual in this position is responsible for developing operator training plans to increase usage of all on-board technologies, working internally to train technicians around the territory in these technologies; and is considered the expert for all questions and training needs around advanced on-board technologies. Seeking candidates with previous experience operating equipment. Previous experience with Quarry/Aggregate, Waste and or Civil Construction applications, preferred. Previous experience with utilizing CAT Technology preferred.
Requirements for the Site Services On-board Technology Application Specialist position include:
- Fundamental understanding of customer and industry applications, specifically Quarry & Aggregates, Large Earth Moving, Waste Handling, Construction and Mining.
- Must have industry knowledge in Machine Control and Guidance and various Site Applications to include but not limited to: Quarry/Aggregate, Waste and Civil Construction.
- Must be able to demonstrate and have deep understanding of aftermarket technologies like Terrian and Payload.
- Must be able to demonstrate at an expert level all the technologies available or that will become available on factory-equipped machines.
- Must be able to demonstrate all Caterpillar on board technology at an expert level.
- Expert knowledge of factory and aftermarket assist features on construction and mining equipment.
- Must have a deep understanding of all aspects of customer job site needs and management.
- Understand how machine efficiency using on-board technology equals profit gains for the customer.
- Self-motivated and outgoing.
- Excellent customer satisfaction with ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
- Strong computer and internet skills with high technology aptitude.
- Demonstrated skills of machine operation, leveraging the on-board tech.
- Must have or possess the ability to quickly learn technology products, including Product Link, SOS, CAT Connect, Trimble software options, and other similar products.
- Must be a good listener with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be innovative and creative; able to quickly evaluate facts and maintain good judgment when making decisions.
- Excellent teaching skills.
- Extensive travel required to cover entire territory.
- Must have an excellent driving record.
- Strong PC skills and the ability to self-develop and adapt to changing technology.
- Must be able to handle large volumes of work and work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical requirements must be met for the Site Services On-board Technology Application Specialist job, including regularly being required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
