Position Summary
Our SkillBridge technicians will participate in a structured training program that blends instructor led classroom and online training with hands on applications over a 12 weeks onboarding. Once individuals complete the program they will be responsible for performing periodic maintenance, repair, replacement and troubleshooting on various models of Hyster-Yale forklifts and equipment, as well as competitive material handling equipment. Work includes various fuel systems, drivetrains, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on material handling equipment
- Properly identify and order all necessary replacement parts
- Operate service van in a clean, safe, and secure manner
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Assist with training/mentoring apprentice technicians through on-the-job training
- Maintain exceptional customer service standards
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- High school diploma, G.E.D. or tech school graduate preferred
- Demonstrated ability to repair equipment per skill level
- Basic computer/tablet knowledge (Microsoft and Apple operating systems)
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record (must be maintained throughout employment)
Skills Required
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety rules, and maintenance instructions
- Mathematical Skills: Calculate figures including discounts, percentages; understand weight, volume, and distance measurements
- Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems with limited standardization; interpret various types of instructions
- Customer Service: Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, and communicate
- Frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 75 pounds
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Specific vision abilities required including close/distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
