Manager of Programming

Pay: $100,000-$125,000/year (dependent on experience)
Bonus: 10% bonus potential

Key qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, (will also consider equivalent professional experience)
- Demonstrated success delivering computer-based solutions that align with organizational goals and improve business operations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical users and stakeholders
- Experience with IBM i technologies including CL, Cobol, and Forta Sequel is a plus
- Strong understanding of database technologies (SQL) and data management principles
- Exposure to or interest in modern BI platforms — especially Power BI, DAX, and data modeling
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) and modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, automation, version control)
- Experience in modern programming languages such as C#, Java, PHP, Python, or JavaScript, with the ability to review code and guide best practices preferred
Responsibilities:
Oversee, develop and implement computer-based applications in support of corporate goals and objectives
- Assist other departments to develop effective solutions to their information needs
- Manage programming and application project life cycles, from defining user needs through design, programming, testing, implementation, documentation, and training
- Follow departmental standards and accepted IT practices for quality work
- Document and test backup recovery procedures for critical applications
Strive to provide continually improving service and satisfaction to our users
- Perform analysis of the business processes supported
- Perform analysis of the capabilities and limitations of the computer systems
- Assist users by answering questions and offering suggestions based on the above

Physical Requirements:
- Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time
- Hand coordination (typing and writing)
- Occasional forward bending and reaching
