Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Painter in Salem, Virginia at our corporate headquarters. The Painter is responsible for preparing equipment and/or components for paint application. This includes mixing and thinning paint to specifications, as well as taping and cleaning. Must comply with all safety regulations required in a paint booth. Seeking candidates with minimum of 3 years' experience in high quality painting and paint preparation
Requirements for the Painter position include:
- Previous heavy equipment/automotive painting and sandblasting experience required.
- High mechanical aptitude and good communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, and willingness to work overtime as necessary.
- Good driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical requirements must be met for the Painter job, including the ability to lift, carry and maneuver items up to 70 pounds, including bulky objects. This position requires repeated reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending and climbing beside, onto and under a variety of heavy equipment. Work assignments will be completed on ladders, work platforms and high-reach baskets. Able to hold and use high-pressure blast nozzle/paint sprayer for extended periods of time.
