As Sonsray Machinery continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Class A Driver for our CASE dealership in Phoenix, AZ. This position is a full-time and hourly non-exempt position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
- Complete walk-around inspections and submit daily
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions by checking that the equipment is loaded and secured properly according to regulations
- Collect and verify delivery route instructions from appropriate sources
- Obtain oversize and weight permits
- Coordinate pilot vehicle needs
- Maintain driver logs according to all applicable federal, state, local, and Sonsray regulations and procedures
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles promptly
- Secure cargo for transport or towing with applicable restraints including appropriate blocks, chains, binders, or straps where applicable, including covering of windows, exhaust, intake, and other items as product configurations dictate
- Stop at all weigh stations along routes to comply with federal, state, and local regulations
- Drive trucks with capacities greater than 26,001 GVRW including tractor-trailers
- combinations to transport, tow, or deliver products and/or materials
- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required
- Inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions and notify the supervisor of any discrepancies
- Regularly be engaged away from the employer's place or places of business and will be driving to the existing customer’s and/or prospective client’s location
- Comply with all road signs and operate vehicles within their limits and weather environment
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments
- Must be able to walk, use hands, fingers, bend, carry, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Performs other functions or duties as directed by management in line with the objectives of the dealership
Requirements
- 1 + years of related work and/or related military experience
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred
- Must be over 21 years of age, possess and maintain a current and acceptable, Class “A” Driver's License to drive for the company.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Certification
- Ability to handle and resolve frequent interpersonal conflict
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, stressful work environment
- Ability to respond quickly, accurately, and professionally to demands and requests from customers and employees
