DESCRIPTION: The successful candidate must have relevant working experience and be able to operate, repair, rebuild, and maintain all types of industrial engine/rental equipment in a fast paced environment and must be able to mult-task. The primary focus of this position will be the maintenance and repair of the rental fleet. The successful candidate must have good human relations skills and the personality to successfully communicate and problem solve with customers. Customer satisfaction is of primary consideration.
The essential functions of this position include the following:
- Independently and successfully diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain diesel engines, compressors, pumps and heaters
- Perform work on generators in various working conditions
- Utilize a laptop computer for information and diagnostic purposes with a demonstrated proficiency in S.I.S. and E.T.
- Accurately complete service reports and provide the details to complete work orders
- Work overtime as required
- Work in the field as required
- Meet the Department of Transportation physical examination and licensing requirements as mandated by law
- Maintain tool requirements
As a Shop Mechanic you are required to work in an industrial environment which includes exposure to significant environmental conditions. Physical requirements include:
- Overall stamina
- Sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing
- Carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching, listening, and speaking
- Must have good motor coordination skills
- Coordination of eyes, hands, and feet
- Verbal intelligence, and numerical intelligence
- The workplace environmental conditions include subject to noise, heat, cold
- Injury exposures, and atmospheric exposures
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Requirements: Previous experience with diesel engines, power generation and air compressor repairs.
