DESCRIPTION:
This position will work a rotating shift between first and second shifts.
The successful candidate must be able to confidently and safely move all types of earthmoving and paving equipment in relation to his assigned duties.
The essential functions of this position include the following: Care and maintenance of all Jenny Room/Paint Room equipment; Inventory of all cleaning and painting supplies; preparation of equipment to include knowledge of lubrication and maintenance; application of new finish to body parts that have been restored; structural damage machine inspections; calculating cost estimates; looking over and double-checking machine damage reports; repairing minor body damage; priming and sanding surfaces that have been repaired; restoration of coatings and sealers; surface preparation; spray gun operation and related equipment; paint mixing, matching, and applying; solving paint application problems; finish defects, causes, and cures; safety precautions; paint technicians must adhere to very specific principles and that process begins with the surface preparation of a machine or panel. The process continues with paint mixing and then leads into the application of paint. Attend to refinishing stage. Strict safety precautions accompany each phase of the process. At least two years experience in painting or auto body industry.
This position requires a very high level of attention to details in both cleaning and painting of equipment. Automotive Body and Paint Technician certification preferred.
Graduate of a technical school, military school, or relevant working experience acceptable to the company.
