This position will provide support for all shop mechanics at the Engine Rebuild Facility both in disassembly and assembly. Must possess the appropriate training and relevant work experience on natural gas engines or similar types of products. Good mechanical aptitude is a must. Must be capable of working in an orderly and safe manner. Duties would include but are not limited to:
- assist where necessary with disassembly or assembly
- load or unload equipment
- load and unload parts for all facility parts washers
- pre-wash in coming equipment
- prep engines for shipping
- assist with paint operations
- facility clean up where necessary including scrap hoppers
- operation of floor scrubbers
- operate lift trucks and cranes
- maintain a clean work area
- assist in maintaining all tooling
- deliver parts and tools, etc as necessary
As a Mechanic Helper you are required to work in an industrial environment which includes exposure to significant environmental conditions. Physical requirements include:
- Overall stamina
- Sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing
- Carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching, listening, and speaking
- Must have good motor coordination skills
- Coordination of eyes, hands, and feet
- Verbal intelligence, and numerical intelligence
- The workplace environmental conditions include subject to noise, heat, cold
- Injury exposures, and atmospheric exposures
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Graduate of a technical school, military school, or relevant working experience acceptable to the company.
