A Day in the Life of a Class A Driver - Heavy Equipment Hauler:
Compensation: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour DOE
Aerial material handling and equipment loading experience
Minimum of 3-5 years of transporting Heavy Equipment
Experience operating Heavy Construction Equipment
Secure cargo for transport or towing with applicable restraints including appropriate blocks, chains, binders, or straps where applicable, including covering of windows, exhaust, intake, and other items as product configurations dictate
Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
Complete walk-around inspections daily and ensure truck and trailer maintenance is within compliance
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions by checking that the equipment is loaded and secured properly according to regulations
Obtain oversize and weight permits
Coordinate pilot vehicle needs
Maintain driver logs according to all applicable federal, state, local, and Sonsray regulations and procedures
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles promptly
Stop at all weigh stations along routes to comply with federal, state, and local regulations
Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required
Inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions and notify the supervisor of any discrepancies
Must be over 21 years of age, possess and maintain a current and acceptable, valid Class A Driver's License to drive for the company
Performs other functions or duties as directed by management in line with the objectives of the dealership
